How to Prepare for Using
It is recommended to rinse in warm water before you use your stone for the first time!
How to Use a Pizza Stone
1. Use clean warm water only. Never use soap or detergents as they will remain a soap residua taste on stone.
2. Please pre-heat your stone for about 20-30 minutes on 500°F (260°C) before you start to use your pizza stone. You might wish to dry your stone in a low oven after allowing the stone to air dry overnight and before baking at high temperatures.
3. Never immerse a hot stone into water as this will crack the stone. The stone need with naturally cool down.
4. Place it uncovered in your oven and bake for one hour at your ovens maximum temperature. This process will harden the stone beyond its initial firing. Each time you bake on your stone it will continue to harden.
5. Your pizza stone will acquire stains through use, this is to be expected and will not affect the baking properties of your stone.
Caution
1. Always handle a hot pizza stone with oven gloves. Remember the pizza stone retains heat for long periods of time.
2. Take care of handling your stone as dropping or hitting it against a hard surface may damage the stone.
3. Never place your stone over an open flame or on top of a hot electric burner element, the concentrated heat will cause the stone to crack.
4. Please protect your table with a heat resistant mat if using the pizza stone as a serving base at the table.
5. Keep children away from pizza stone as it might still remain hot for a long period of time.
6. Take care when moving the pizza stone on to the serving rack to prevent the stone from sliding off.
